The Educational Options Department and CUSD’s high schools are committed to helping every student reach his or her potential. The Academic Extended Day program assists students in their quest for academic success and allows them to complete credits required for graduation.

What programs are available to Ceres, Central Valley, and Argus/Endeavor High School students?

  • Academic Extended Day classes are available to students who may not have all of the credits necessary to meet CUSD’s high school graduation requirements. Courses are offered for the semester either Monday-Thursday nights from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Students who successfully complete a course can earn five credits toward the graduation requirement.

  • Additional tutoring for all 9-12 students is offered at CVHS and CHS. This tutoring is designed to meet the needs of struggling students on several levels, especially in English and Mathematics.

  • The CUSD Secondary Summer School programs are for district students currently enrolled in grades 9 through 12 (current 8th graders may also register as an incoming 9th grader, call school site for further information). Courses are offered during one session, three periods held at each of the comprehensive high school sites. The program begins the week following the end of the regular school year. Registration starts in the spring with priority given to CUSD students in need of credits for graduation. Students who successfully complete the program can earn up to ten credits toward graduation.
